Rebuilding our website hasn't gone as easy as we had hoped. Its quite a struggle, especially at a time of year when there is so much happening out and about.
There has also been a delay in the transfer of domain names, which also means the email addresses.

We may get somewhere soon.

Update 26th quick before we get in the van.
If your track is on the last compilation ---see audio list on the gnome label group. yo may want to take out a membership of the BG gnomefest promo group, to follow how well things go.

Update.... Because of advance interest we have place some of the tracks for radio play as a precursor to release.

Due to staff shortages ( well not really , its just that no one wants to stay in while we can go and hang around in fields listening to cool music)

--submissions may not be processed quickly between now and the Solstice.

The compilation being assembled at the moment is a big costly one, going out to the press and most radio stations. If you cant wait until the next free one please remember that you will be expected to pay a share of the costs although its still subsidised by Gnomefest. ( including free membership to the new site)

We are taking a deposit of £40 for a first submission and £10 for each afterwards.

If you change your mind for any silly reason ( oh I made a mistake is the favourite one ) this is still payable.

For bona fide reasons, ie artistic ones or death we will make a total refund if you haven't sent in the tracks and half , if you have.

Once your submission is in the system, its in there, full stop . So Think carefully before you submit.

We have ha d a few pratts this last year wasting our resources and stealing our time. Dont be one of them.

Despite this we are still willing to help people at this end of the industry . But trying the patience of some of our friendly Biz professionals is not the right way to start out. (Being on a blacklist before you are even known is not a good move)

	AIM AND THE RADIO ACADEMY HOST JOINT EVENT: SPECIALIST MUSIC 2008 (12th June 2008, Cargo, London) Tickets selling fast - click here to book now! Latest radio industry registrants include: BBC, Wise Buddah, RadioCentre, Global Radio, Bauer Music and Somethin' Else Latest label registrants include: Beggars Group, Snapper Music, Jeepster and Upper 11 Records AIM and The Radio Academy are joining together to host Specialist Music 2008 - an event which aims to foster a new understanding and improved relationship between the radio and music industries, with particular focus on the field of specialist music. If you're a label or music company and want to increase your understanding of and contacts in specialist music radio (i.e. the shows after 7pm and on specialist stations), this event is not to be missed! Likewise, if you work in the radio industry, this is a great chance to meet some of the UK's top labels and learn more about how they operate. The event will be hosted by Radio 1's Huw Stephens, and will feature three main sessions, as well as a keynote speaker (TBA). Session 1 - "Inside Radio" The first session will look at the workings of specialist music radio, from what goes on in production meetings, to how tracks are chosen for play, how the digital age has affected this process and how you break your track on a show. Panelists include: Huw Stephens (Presenter, Radio 1), Hermeet Chadha (Producer, BBC and Channel 4 Radio), Paul Thomas (Producer, Radio 1), Nicky Birch (Somethin' Else) and others TBA. Session 2: "Inside Labels: Radio and the Promotional Mix" This session will look at how labels approach radio, from how and when labels put together a promotional plan and how radio fits into this, to the impact of radio support (or lack of) on a release and the role of the plugger. Panelists include: Julie Weir (Visible Noise), Janine Irons (Dune Music), Ben Beardsworth (XL Recordings) Peter Quicke (Ninja Tune), Richard Wootton (Richard Wootton Publicity) and moderator Chris Parles (ACM). Session 3: "Tomorrow's World" The final session will look at the future of specialist music radio and independent music,. With the advent of technology that allows your customer to purchase tracks as they are being broadcast, and with labels offering free ad-funded downloads, what are the business models for specialist music going to be in the coming years? Where does radio fit in? Panelists include: Justin Spooner (Double Shot Consulting), Pascal Grierson (Cliq), Robin Pembrooke (GCap) and others TBA. Leaks say that the forthcoming album from the Mercury Men is an absolute cracker. Well it has such a wide range of appeall, even Granny ( shades of CSN), most are saying its going to be a winner regardless.

Tolpuddle Martyrs' Festival 2008 - 18th - 20th July

On February 24th, 1834, six farm labourers from the Dorset village of Tolpuddle were arrested on a charge of taking part in an 'illegal oath' ceremony. In the eyes of their masters, however, the real offence was that they had dared to form a trade union to defend their livelihood. For this they were sentenced to seven years' transportation to the penal colonies of Australia. The sentences provoked an immense outcry, leading to the first great mass trade union protest.

The campaign won free pardons and the Martyrs' return to England. A historic episode in the struggle for trade unionists' rights in Great Britain.

We shall never forget what we owe them.
